Remember CEP and Valley Gives on 12.12.13

In less than a week from today, beginning at the stroke of midnight, Valley Gives, the Community Foundation’s giving event for western Massachusetts, will kick off 24-hours of local generosity. Mark your calendars today and tell a friend to join in this exciting, easy event to make your year-end gifts go farther. You will visit one website (www.valleygivesday.org) where you can choose to donate to over 350 participating local nonprofits who are raising funds on this special day.

The best part of the day is the exciting prize competition designed to add a little extra to what the nonprofits are able to raise for themselves on this day. Your gift can trigger a bonus gift of $1,200, a Golden Ticket, to go to your favorite nonprofit – selected in hourly random drawings. Nonprofits also compete for prizes up to $10,000 if they attract the most donors or raise the largest amount of dollars on the day. Thanks to an additional$25,000 in gifts from generous Community Foundation donors and sponsors, the prize pool will now be $225,000.This last minute generosity is a repeat of last year when donors stepped forward with just days until the event to add their additional support.

Be inspired by this generosity and make your own donations to help us double our results from last year when we raised just over $1 million in 4 hours for participating nonprofits. If you and a friend give on 12.12.13 at www.valleygivesday.org, you can help us reach an amazing goal of $2 million!
